San Cristóbal de las Casas
A colonial town in the Chiapas highlands, about 2,200 m up, with cobbled pedestrian streets, markets, cafés and a strong Indigenous and artistic culture. Nights are cool all year. A good base for trips to the Sumidero Canyon and the nearby Tsotsil and Tseltal villages.
